Dr. Nawaf Al-Subaie MD(Res.) FRCA EDIC FFICM

Nawaf Al-Subaie is a consultant in critical care medicine, with interest in haemodynamic monitoring, management of cardiogenic shock, out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and peri-operative medicine.

Nawaf’s educational journey has laid a solid foundation for his career. He earned his medical degree from the University of Dundee, followed by dual qualifications in critical care medicine then anaesthesia obtained from South London. He further advanced his expertise by earning a doctorate degree from the University of London. His commitment to the specialty is evident through his contributions in courses and conferences related to his areas of interest. He is also a regular reviewer for many prominent medical journals. Before his current roles, Nawaf served as a consultant in anaesthesia and critical care medicine at St George’s Hospital, London since 2010. His clinical commitments included general and cardiac intensive care, where he honed his skills and expanded his expertise in critical care management. He was the clinical lead for SW London Critical Care Network before moving back to his home country, Kuwait.

Currently, Nawaf serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Kuwait Hospital, where he leads with a commitment to patient centred care. In addition to his primary role, he is a visiting consultant in Critical Care Medicine at Cleveland Clinic London.

Nawaf’s interests extend to behavioural human factors and patient safety, areas in which he continually seeks to innovate and improve.
